Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa) is probably the most popular herb for smoking and in smoking blends. Wild lettuce can be used in cases of an overactive nervous system and as a sedative. The dreamy effects are a little bit similar to opium, but milder. Wild lettuce can help reduce the feeling of restlessness, excitability and insomnia.
This herb can be enjoyed either as a tea or as a herbal smoke. As a herbal smoke, use it like any other smoking blend with a pipe or paper. Use for a tea, add 1 teaspoon to a pot of boiling water and brew for 10 minutes. Strain, add sweetener if desired.
